Splish Splash We Were Taking A Bath

Demea has been gently persuading me to post a blog on our Travels with Harley site, but until she reminded me of some of the great stories that we have had so far, I didn’t think I could come up with the goods. Needless to say, my memory banks are full of interesting fables of our travels along the way.

Before I go on, I have to say that we are postponing our Kickstarter Project. The sale of our Sears store didn’t go through and we wouldn’t have enough time to enjoy our 60-day trip.

Now, back to the tales at hand. This past weekend Demea and I decided to hit the road on the Road King, but after about an hour had to turn back because it got really cold and started to snow. Groundhog Phil told us to expect an early spring, but it doesn’t look like his prediction came through.

After we had to turn back, we decided to stop by the grocery store to pick up a few things. The snow was getting heavier and we wanted to make sure that we had plenty of supplies. We bought a 2-liter bottle of ginger ale and headed for home. After we unpacked the groceries, the bottle of ginger ale was very inviting. After putting some ice in a glass, we unscrewed the top and were covered in ginger ale. Not to mention the floor and the kitchen table. Note to self; never open a bottle of soda that has been hitch hiking in your saddlebags.

Sunday morning we woke up to several inches of snow on the ground, but still have hopes that we will be able to ride next weekend, if not, I have plenty more riding stories to share in Travels with Harley.
