More Awesome Biker Bars in America

Travels with Harley

Last week we promised more Biker Bars in America, and after doing some additional research, discovered that it would take more than one blog to highlight the most awesome Biker Bars in America.

The name Suck Bang Blow is quite an eye opener when it comes to Biker Bars in America. Located in Murrells Inlet, about 10 miles south of Myrtle Beach in South Carolina, Suck Bang Blow has quite a following when it comes to Biker Bars in America. Opening its doors as the Original Biker Burnout Bar in 1996, it quickly gained a reputation as one of the best Biker Bars in America with great live music, hot bartenders, and a burnout pit. After an expansion with 40,000 square feet indoors and an amazing five acres outdoors, the Original Biker Burnout Bar became Suck Bang Blow in 2002.

Florida is a great place to party and is home to some pretty awesome Biker Bars in America like the Boot Hill Saloon in Daytona. The Boot Hill Saloon has some of these best events in town including the annual rib fest. This is a great place to go if you want to enjoy some live music while downing some icy cold drinks.

Minnesota is great during the summer and home to another example of great Biker Bars in America. The Whiskey Junction in Minneapolis has a long history and was built to house the Grain Belt and the Minneapolis Brewing Company in 1886. Apparently, the second floor of the bar held several rooms and, although never confirmed, was rumored to be a brothel. Today the Whiskey Junction has live music, serves beer and wine and is great food for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Ape Hangers touts itself as one of those Biker Bars in America that is for serious riders only, no wanna be’s allowed. Located in downtown Bel Alton, Southern Maryland on route 301, there is plenty of bike parking out front with pool tables, bar dancing and live bands on the weekends. Ape Hangers also has two full bars, including an outside tiki bar and a full menu loaded with all kinds of things that I would like to try including South Western egg rolls, mac and cheese bites, and a steak and cheese sandwich with, wait for it, potato pretzel bread.

With all of the great Biker Bars in America it’s hard to leave out No Scum Allowed, yes, you heard that right, No Scum Allowed. Located in White Oaks, New Mexico No Scum Allowed has quite a history that includes Billy the Kid, but I’ll share that with you next week.

While I was doing research, I discovered that over half of the Biker Bars in America that I checked out were closed. With that being sad, every one of the Biker Bars in America that you find on Travels with Harley is open for business, which means we will be featuring a few more to whet your spring and summer motorcycle riding whistle in the next few weeks. If you have a Biker Bars in America suggestion, please let us know, as we would love to feature it on our Travels with Harley blog.
