The Pig Trail

The Pig Trail is 19 miles of curves, twisties, and beautiful scenery with waterfalls, the Ozark National Forest, and mountain views. The short trip is perfect for a day or weekend ride and of course, spring motorcycle rides. The Pig Trail is one of the best rides in Arkansas and was used by the Confederate and Union soldiers during the Civil War. Be sure and stop for breakfast at the Farmers Table Café for locally sourced and organic eats.

The Tunnel of Trees

Located in Michigan, the Tunnel of Trees is one of the most beautiful and scenic spring motorcycle rides that you will not want to miss. Unlike mountain tunnels, the Tunnel of Trees covers the road with a beautiful canopy that is stunning during fall and spring. You’ll drive through forests and small towns before making your way to the coast. Stop for a bite to eat at Stafford’s Pier Restaurant or have a sandwich at Gurney’s Bottle Shop in Harbor Springs, which is known for their home baked bread and tasty ingredients. Bring some cash, as the bottle shop doesn’t take cards.

Twisty Road

If you’re looking for long spring motorcycle roads, the Twisty Road is for you. Starting out in Redbluff, CA, the 2-hour 140-mile stretch of Highway 36 is full of twists and turns that take you to Fortuna, CA. There is little to no reception, so make sure you are prepared. The roller coaster ride has some great views through the redwoods, but keep your eyes on the road as cows frequent the Twisty Road as well. Once you get to Fortuna, stop for lunch or dinner at the Eel River Brewing Company for a smoked pulled pork sandwich with a side of Mac and cheese.

Going to the Sun Road

This 50-mile road trip starts out in St. Mary, MT and takes you through the Glacier National Park. During the spring, you will see some of the most beautiful wildflowers on the planet. The road is steep and curvy with meadows, streams and even mountain goats, elk and deer meeting you at every twist and turn. There are lots of hiking trails and places where you can enjoy a picnic. If you have time, you may want to check out the House of Mystery on Highway 2.

Although winter is in full swing, you can still dream about spring motorcycle rides with Travels with Harley. Enjoy!
