Everything is bigger and better in Texas including a Harley Davidson Road Trip. I checked out some of the routes on the OpenRoadJourney.com site and have added quite a few to our Harley Davidson Road Trip list. Texas offers rider’s national forests, antique hot spots, well kept camping site secrets and historic sites. One of the first to catch my eye is the NW San Antonio to Fredericksburg, TX Harley Davidson Road Trip.

The 175-mile Harley Davidson Road Trip offers lake, farmland and mountain views. Settled in 1846 by a German immigrant, Fredericksburg certainly holds on to its roots and is truly the shopping capital of the Texas Hill community with all kinds of different stores that you can enjoy during your Harley Davidson Road Trip.

Fredericksburg is loaded with eateries that certainly have my thoughts drifting towards a good meal. One place that I want to enjoy is called the Farm Haus Bistro that serves breakfast, lunch, dinner and brunch on Sundays. Some of the items on the brunch menu include Eggs Hemmingway, Roasted Almond Belgian Waffles, and Farm Haus Quiche. They even have cottages on the property where you can stay after a long Harley Davidson Road Trip.

While you are in Fredericksburg, you have to try an authentic German restaurant. Personally, I like the sounds of Altdorf Biergarten, which is located on West Main Street. This classic beer garden restaurant serves up authentic schnitzel and sausage dinners that come with red cabbage, sauerkraut and sweet and sour potatoes.

Fredericksburg is also home to the National Museum of the Pacific War. Located on Main Street you can enjoy 34,000 square feet of allied and Japanese aircraft, guns, tanks and other large war artifacts that were used during the Pacific War.
